Brenden James
Brenden awoke on a Sunday morning feeling extremely drowsy. He had almost no motivation to get out of bed until he remembered he had something important to do that day. See, for potions, the professor had assigned them a duty. A select few fifth year students had been paired with some third years who were having trouble, and those fifth years were to help the third years like tutors in exchange for house points. Brenden was one of the lucky few chosen to be a tutor, assigned to a girl named..what was it? Avia? Allie? Not important. Rolling himself out of bed, the tall Hufflepuff wandered to the bathroom and began his daily morning activities. Once cleaned up, he pulled on a long-sleeved shirt, boot-cut jeans and some cowboy boots before going up some wooden steps to the hufflepuff common room. Very much like the Slytherin common room, the hufflepuff common room was either level with or below the ground, depending on where you were. To get into it, one must climb through barrels. A little childish, right? People expected the barrels to be full, which made no need for a password. However, over the years a couple students of older ages were tired of having to climb through the barrels every day, and devised a simple solution. Brenden found his backpack in the same corner as he had left it. He picked it up, and as he did so, a small animal poked his head out. "Botte," Brended rolled his eyes. The ferret disappeared back into the backpack. "Fine, come along if you'd like." Brenden zipped up the sack most of the way. He grabbed his wand out of the small hole in the top before slinging it over his shoulder. He stepped forward towards the entrance of the common room and held his wand up. He tapped a small wooden plank next to the barrels, and then a nozzle on one of them. There was a small quake as the barrels began to push forward, allowing an opening in the side enough to slip through. Brenden quickly slid his lanky body through before it sealed its self up again. Botte poked his head out of the backpack as Brenden made his way to the Great Hall. He could hear people "aww"-ing behind him, probably at the cute ferret in his backpack. Seeing people open their mail, he realized he was late and grabbed a muffin and began to walk with haste out of the castle. He walked out onto the lawns, a small chill from the coming-winter greeting him. He could feel Botte poke his head back in to the backpack. Brenden then began to jog down and around the castle, passing the Whomping Willow, while still keeping his distance, heading quickly towards the Black Lake.
